UN – Urban Gateway
The brief
The world is urbanising faster than ever before, and UN HABITAT (The United Nations Human Settlements Programme) needed an internet-based platform to bring together ‘urban actors’ for serious dialogue, networking and best practice.
Our approach
Working alongside stakeholders around the world, Public Zone designed and developed the versatile community knowledge hub Urban Gateway, based on the Drupal platform.
Our team launched the site in April at a meeting of the Governing Council in Kenya, training members in using the site and meeting with bi-lateral partners to ensure the continued evolution of the project.
The result
Early analytics show that the Gateway is already being used around the world, with urban planners, managers, academics and policy makers joining the community to ensure better neighbourhoods, towns and cities for everyone.
