The brief
We were asked to make training manuals available online to help frontline workers such as the Police, nurses and social workers manage situations at work in which they are faced with someone whose behaviour they find challenging.
Our approach
Our research suggested that the target audience would not use a wordy training manual, so we decided to adopt a more visual and interactive approach, telling stories through pictures commissed from a Los Angeles storyboard company.
The result
The original site was launched in 2005 and was rolled out by St George's Healthcare NHS Trust. It is still in use; in spring 2009 we were commissioned to create a series of new scenarios, working with the same company in LA.
