The brief
Connecting constituents to the people who represent them has never been more relevant or important.
Within this project we wanted to use new technology to make politics more relevant, current and easily consumable for users.
Our approach
Public Zone has created the first MP iPhone application, using mobile technology to bring constituents closer to their MP and engage in one-to-one dialogue.
MyMp allows MPs to:
- Be transparent about their daily activity and report back on issues close to the constituency they represent
- Canvas opinions from their constituents on issues they might be voting on or debating in parliament
- Give MPs a means to highlight events which are happening in the local constituency
It allows users to:
- Tell their MP directly issues or questions they have about their local area
- Let their MP know their thoughts on a specific issue and whether they are for or against it
- See other constituents thoughts and comments on specific issues
- See what's happening in their local area
The result
The app has been downloaded by more than 8,000 people from the Apple store. 748 people have given user ratings, of which 101 are‘five star', 46 written reviews, 30+ MPs have approached us for a similar app and hundreds of people have sent us comments through the app.
