natcen

The brief To redesign and build NatCen's website, with an intuitive content management system that multiple content authors could use.
Our approach NatCen, the largest social research foundation in the UK, is sitting on a treasure trove of useful and fascinating data about our society. Our primary aim with the website is to make that data readily available online and make NatCen feel more transparent as an organisation. After updating the website, our next task will be to help NatCen distribute its findings elsewhere on the web so that as many people as possible can be informed by its work.
The result We launched the new site in October 2009. Visitor numbers over three weeks in January 2010 were up 218% for the same period last year. The number of page views increased by over 1000%. The bounce rate has more than halved and average time spent on the site has tripled.

Traffic to the ScotCen website which we developed on the same platform at the same time, has risen by more than 1000%.

The website was also shortlisted for the Third Sector Excellence Awards in 2010. The winners will be announced in September 2010.
