The brief
Commissioned by the Rt Hon Gordon Brown, the UK Talent and Enterprise Task Force asked us to propose how to develop an online talentmap, a universal structure to help businesses understand how skills training fits into their business.
Our approach
We devised a strategy to encourage the huge range of skills providers in the UK to use consistent language when refering to skills, to make it easier for employers to navigate through the skills world. This included a strong brand that could be used in association with partners, a clear visual representation of talentmap, a website and search function which searches hundreds of websites to bring results to the employer and a roving search application to enable an employer to search for relevant opportunities no matter on which website they start.
The result
Our prototype enabled UKCES to gain funding for the project. We went on to work with BT and Business Link to design, build and populate the website for launch.
